2 NIGHTS APRIL 29 AND 30 I am very excited to share this new music with you all. Idiot Fish continues to evolve and we are almost done with the new recording. I am so pleased about the way this recording is coming out. Hristo Vitchev on guitar and Dan Robbins on bass are taking it to a whole new level on this recording. And the hydrid electro/acoustic/percussive/harmonic drum set concept is better than ever. Last time we played Cafe Pink House (A great venue to both play and hear music) it was sold out. Please get your tickets early as this will be a good one! ALL AGES!
This'll be a fun one at a great venue. I hope you can make it! ALL AGES! Charles McNeal - Sax David Udolf - Piano John Shifflet - Bass Wally Schnalle - Drums

An offshoot of Wally's Idiot Fish group, this trio is evidence of the further evolution of Wally's technological and compositional boundary pushing style. Schnalle's compositions are fueled by the best of fusion traditions yet they are fresh and forward-looking. He also uses the latest computer/music technology to achieve a dream he has been striving to realize for decades of playing harmonic content as well as other sounds directly from his usual acoustic drum set. Intriguing compositions, virtuosic soloists and cutting edge tech come together to create an intriguing musical experience complete with projected audio reactive images.
"... fusion just doesn't get any better than this. it's most strongly recommended that you listen to this entire sonic extravaganza with headphones on, at least for the first sitting. I give Wally & his crew a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"Working sound bytes into delicate infusions of soul, jazz, and electronica, Schnalle nourishes an integrated field of sound that at once evokes seventies nostalgia and progressive futurism." Tyran Grillo, AllAboutJazz.com
"Wally Schnalle has created a new level of sound for the next generation, stunning!" Brent Black, criticaljazz.com
"drummer Wally Schnalle found an innovative approach to jazz-combining his love for traditional jazz sounds with cutting-edge electronica and marrying them into his latest project, Idiot Fish. Schnalle, who's been known for decades in the South Bay as a phenomenal '70s-style jazz-fusion drummer, does it all in this project: he plays the drums while also controlling the programming on the computers and other electronic devices he's playing along with." Amulya Datla, SanJose.com
"Schnalle even projects visuals on a screen during performances. Prepare to have your mind blown." Aaron Carnes, Metroactive
"Schnalle mixes the sound of live jazz with programmed electronica and synth from his drum set, creating a new blend of funk, jazz and electronica." Thyra Phan SanJose.com
